You could build a small scale of a bridge and test structural design. Like where the bridge has weak points.

You question could be something such as:

What type of bridge will hold up to different conditions?
{You could make it sound better then that}

Then test different bridiges in different conditions, and test different stress points.

You would need to build a bridge somehow tho... out of popscicle sticks or something. That might be difficult.

Hi Tiffany

Choosing your topic is the very first step you need to focus on. While this board can give you ideas, only you can decide what you want to do.

Perhaps it would help if you read through the "coach" section on this website. You can click on the "Coach" tab. Alternatively, the url is: http://www.all-science-fair-projects.com/science_fair_projects_coach/page1x.html

Hopefully as you read through the coaching sections, you'll begin to narrow down on an idea. My strongest recommendation is that you try to identify something specific that you are INTERESTED in. If you're interested in it, you're much more likely to come up with a project that will get the judges attention.

All the best and hope that helps.

hey tiffany,
i found a good site for you for your project. it deals with medicine as you said you were interested in it.
It is related with lung cancer but it is a non experimental project. the link is -
http://www.alumni.ca/~thog5n0/
there is also a project on HIV/AIDS
http://www.selah.k12.wa.us/MS/SciProj98/6TH/RebeccaH/HIV.HTML

If you want a project which involves an experiment then try -
http://www.selah.k12.wa.us/SOAR/SciProj99/NicoleSciProj.html
it deals with antacids and their neutralizing our digestive juices. which one works the best?
good luck,
science freak
