Default Need help writing a hypothesis

We need creating a question and than the hypothesis for the following project>

The project is "A telegraph"- made simply with a knife switch, 9 volt battery, bell wire, light bulb and holder. The bell wire also runs up a nail, hammered to a small wooden block with a tin strip bend into an S form and fastened with a small screw to the other end of the block of wood. the tin strip will rest just above the nail not touching it. So when you close the knife switch, the circuit is complete. We produce a magnetic field around the coils, so that the nail becomes an electromagnet. This draws down the tin sptrip to the nail which completes the circuit. the telegraph can send messages with the switch, morse code.
We have no idea how to write a hypothesis from this information. Does anyone have any ideas to help us? We are a first time science fair family! Thank you
