Default mail an egg

Hi! this assignment is similar to the egg drop assignment, but with some other problems. We've been asked to mail an egg in the smallest package possible. It must arrive intact in order to get a passing grade. So we need to protect the egg from shock or whiplash and from being crushed while it's being thrown around in the post.

I'd like to take some inspiration from the structure of the egg itself but I'm having trouble coming up with materials that are thin but strong, can absorb or deflect shock, and protect the egg.

thanks!

Try a toilet paper roll and stick it in there! It helps protect the ends of the egg. You may have to cut and then tape if you can't fit the egg in thought.

I hope you like my idea!

Have a nice science project. I think that this project is really cool by the way!

Cool cool

First wrap the egg in A LOT of toilet paper or soft clothing. Make sure not to cram to hard or you can risk crushing the egg. When you hae enough on, take bubble wrap and wrap the egg in it. Tape it up at the end and you have fall resistant package that, when dropped, has the toilet paper/soft clothing absorb the shock. Its not full-proof but it will get the job done.

Awesome project.

There is a long thread called "egg drop project" that you can get ideas from on this site. Make sure you contact the postal service because they have rules, and they might have packaging ideas.
