Question Help with the brain

Long time no see.
Anyway, I need help finding info on the brain. Sites, actually. Please, don't tell me to go search google or ask.com. Half of what they give you is irrelevant to your topic. My science textbook does not talk about this much, so please help.
I know it is categorized under the central nervous system. The brain's main functions? Not so sure. Only that it directs everything going on in your body. How the brain works with other systems to keep the body healthy? No clue. Which diseases or disorders affects the brain? Hemorrhage, I know for sure. Something with a ruptured red blood cell. Can a person live without the brain? (Can there be transplants?) A person can definitely not live with a brain. Transplants? Not sure. Are there transplants of brains available? Don't think so.
Well, thank you in advance.

Yes, thank you, Naru. That was a helpful piece of info.
I do need more sites, though. Please contribute! Thanks.

Try looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_brain

It has loads of information so you'll have to see what all you need.

Hope it helps!

The Newtons and friends were taking tea
Beneath the boughs of an apple tree,
When a falling fruit landed on the
Head of the head of the family.
Mrs. Newton cried, 'Well deary me!
That could've caused an injury'.
But clever Isaac alone could see,
The situation's true gravity.
