Default Good Idea!

This is cool how you made the changes so you can select your level for the project.

For making salt crystals,

1. Add two tablespoons of rock salt to 1 cup of tap water.

2. Stir till all dissolved.

3. Put the mixture into a glass cup.

4. Take a pencil and tie a piece of string around it.

5. Place a paper clip at the bottom of the string.

6. Then take the pencil and put it on the top of the glass jar.

For making sugar crystals

1. Stir constantly until the solution is 170F then remove the solution from the heat.

2. Continue to stir the solution as the solution cools to 125F.

3. Pour the 125F solution into the crystal growing vessel. Remember to use a vessel which will tolerate boiling water!

4. Allow the solution to cool to room temperature. Close/seal the container.

Great instructions, lifescience. Though once again, I do not recommend anyone using these instructions word for word. Try to change it a bit and make it your experiment. Like perhaps investigate the effect of varying temperature or concentration of salt on the quality of the crytals.
