Default Hi! we need help to get started please

Hi...I am not very good at science but I don't want my daughter to know that hehe anyway, how would we go about testing and proving our question on paper towels.....Yes, paper towels....which is the most absorbent? I'm thinking I have to buy a few different brands and wet them until they rip? Umm, how do I explain the question, hypothesis, I know the materials, procedure I know to and data? that is the one that is troubling me the most...I can figure out the result and conclusion....I just an idea on how to set all this up on her poster board...I appreciate your help very much.....Oh yea, Happy New Year....

BroadwayBaby is truly a scientist!
Talking Help for igglefan!

Well, first I would narrow down your problem, try this, "Does 2 sheets of Brawny absord a cup of water without ripping, compared to 2 sheets of Charmen?" Then, make a list of you materials,
  1. 10 sheets of Brawny paper towels
  2. 10 sheets of Charmen paper towels
  3. 20 cups of tap water

Then, make a hypothesis! (A hypothesis is similar to an educated prediction)

Ex. "I think that the Brawny will absord 1 cup of water without ripping, yet the Charmen will rip after absording 1 cup of water.

Then, do the procedure listed below!
  1. Apply one cup of water to the two sheets of Brawny paper towels by pouring the water on the center of the towel!
  2. Rip 30 seconds after applying the water!
  3. Repeat with Charmen paper towels!
  4. Record all observations!
  5. Repeat 9 times!

Then, create graphs and tables recording all your information!

Finally, create a lab report and present!!

Hope your experiment goes well, HAPPY LEARNING!!

*Be sure to control all variables, escpecially the temperature of the water!

You’ve been portrayed a thousand different ways
But my heart can see you better than my eyes
‘Cause it’s love that paints the portrait of your life

The face of love
The face of love
You look more like love everyday

Let us see...
Let us be you face.
