Exclamation How to Recover Text from a burnt Piece of Paper with Glycerine

Please Help!!!! I need help on a forensic science fair project my daughter is working on . It is burning a piece of paper, partially an then putting on glycerine to read the burn text. You are supposed to burn it in two aluminum pie plates on top of each other, but paper burns too much!!! It is due next week and I need advice on how to do it correctly! What am I doing wrong. It must be written in ink to retrieve burnt message.
