Exclamation What causes a Tsunami

Is a project on what causes a tsunami controlled? if not can i turn it into a controlled experiment with variables somehow? do any of you know any other controlled experiments?

Default What causes a Tsunami

It doesn't seem like this is the sort of project that you would expect a control - this one is more of a demonstrative project.

okay, thanks but one more question. Does ''How Can We Make Metal Float'' sound like a controlled experiment?

Default Experiment Controls

That's quite easy. First you need to figure out what makes metal float.

Once you do - for example, if you think increasing the density of the suspension fluid would do so, then you can rephrase your hypothesis accordingly to state that :

high density fluids (eg. liquid tar) can be used to make metal float.

Naturally, your control would be to use various low density fluids - eg. water.

Take a look at this page for more information on controls http://www.all-science-fair-projects.com/science_fair_projects_coach/page4b.html

Im sorry to keep bothering you but i really feel the need to ask you this question. Is this project "Can Water Be Magnetized?" controlled?

I think that it is but im not too sure. I'm also not too sure on how i could turn this project into an experiment showing what magnetized water is. So i guess im kind of confused on those two bases.

Have you heard of the Mid-Ocean Ridge? Try finding something on that, I think it might help. Here's a hint, the ridges on the ocean ridge change direction every few ridges. Try to find out why, It may help.
