Talking Sulfuric Acid

First of all, are you sure your teacher allows you to use this for your project because it seems like a very dangerous chemical to work with... and no i don't think you can make sufuric acid.

By the way, only car batteries contain sulfuric acid.

A good way to get information you need in the future is a Google search. Getting in the habit of doing this now will help you learn twice or even ten times as fast as other people, which could be very helpful when you try to find work or start a business later.

Default Warning!

DO NOT MESS WITH CHEMICALS YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR WITH

I know it sounds demeaning, but the sulfuric acid you're talking about is EXTREMELY dangerous. And if you want to get chemicals, always look towards buying them or borrowing some from your school. MAKE SURE that the process you're using to make them, if you choose to, USE A SAFE, CAREFUL, STANDARD, and PROTECTIVE PROCEDURE. STANDARD PROCEDURE.

Googles, gloves, and whatever else needed.

I am not kidding around. Thank goodness you got the diluted sulfuric acid from your teacher. (My father has a scar on his face till today because decades ago, some sulfuric acid splashed unto his face in the lab.) Now you know what I mean by dangerous.

Hmmm... Sounds as dangerous as a jawbreaker that was left out in the sun still inside the wrapper. (saw a show about it. the things [I]exploded[I]!!!!) And besides, there's a bunch of other crud in batteries that you don't want to mess with. Why else would they make it impossible to open them?
