Question Physics Experiment Help

I need an experiment for a science fair that I am going in. I want to do something with physics. I was thinking of "How does temperature affect the strength of a magnet?" but I would like something more complicated, but one that doesnt required a lot of extra equipment. I need one with a control, independent variable, and dependent variable. Please tell me any suggestions.

Hi Ravencraft! Try the above link for a few ideas.

In mechanics Vibration is a problem that regular people are not familiar with.
I recommend that you build an experiment where you can show how vibration can stress the material to its yield point and break it or elongate it.
For this experiment you will have a dependent and a independent variable, that is material stress (dependent) and frequency [rpm] (independent).
To build this project you will need a small electrical motor (AC, less than 1hp), a wheel with an extra weight on one end ( at 180 degrees form 0 )so you can have vibration and a piece of aluminum that you will have to attach one end to the body (you will have to figure that out) of a motor so it can “feel” the vibration. And the other end to a fixed point.
In this case, for experiment purposes, you will have to take out some material from your aluminum rod so you can accelerate fatigue and stress and really see how vibration does affect the material.

I hope that this idea really helps you.

Talking

those are good ideas oscar... I'm not that good at these things well you can maybe find out whyit can deflect the magnet...
