9th grade level project!

I am an 8th grader at an advanced school. This year 8th graders have to do an advanced project. I found a project that investigates the property of surface tension of liquids & determine how it's affected by rising temps & detergent additives. The site where I found the project doesn't have the materials or how to conduct the exeriment. Does anybody have any ideas on how to conduct this experiment at a high school level?
