Default Egg Drop Project

hi,

i need help on the egg drop project where we are only allowed to use toothpicks and super glue. The 2 main components of this project is to drop the structure containing the egg from 8 metres high and the winning team will be the one whose structure is the fastest and the egg can withstand the drop.
I will appreciate any help given. thx

try gluing tooth picks all over the egg and use alot og glue so the toothpicks dont breack the egg when you drop the egg the tooth picks will form a bumper and protect the egg TRY IT OUT FIRST AND HAVE LOTS OF FUN!!!!

I have something like that too. I need to be able to prevent and egg from cracking by using a polymer. For your project, I recomend using sciencegeek016's idea. Good luck!

Thumbs up This works really good!!

Put an egg in vinegar( the common kind) for three days and then rub the shell off gently with your finger and it will bounce!

(all at room temperature and strait from the box)

you need something soft, yes. but you also need something that cusions it when it falls-some soft things don't do that. I have always found that bubblewrap has worked well

dont use bubble wrap because if they toss the egg at a very high point, the bubble wrap wont really cushion it. it would better if you were to use either the packing material they use for televisions or something electronic, or you can simply use marshmellows.
