Default Need Help with where to get information

I'm doing a project on the effect of weight on speed of toy cars on a ramp. Need research sources (websites) with information about effects of weight on velocity... Any ideas?

Well, first of all, check in your physics text book. FIND OUT THE FORMULAS OF VELOCITY and ACCELERATION. Velocity, I can tell you, is distance divided by time. Acceleration has something to do with mass and change in velocity. Then from there, continue your research.

Also, too many people underestimate the powper of google.com. Trust me. Go there and search for "acceleration forumla" or "velocity" or "impact of mass on velocity." And phrase things differently, and you'll get more information.

Good luck!

ok, try this on google"how does velocity affect weight"or whatever the question. another thing you can do is research actual cars and see how the weight affects velocity.

Search? What do you want to know? Why doesn't the textbook help?

Here, let me see...

If velocity affects acceleration, then find the formula of acceleration. For example, if density if mass divided by volume, then you know that mass and volume affects density. Also, you would know the relationship between the three. If mass remains the same and density increases, then volume has to decrease. If you find the formula of acceleration, then you'll know what affects acceleration. Also, from what I know, velocity is not affected by mass. Cause well, the forumla of velocity is distance divided by time. As for acceleration, try looking at some of Galileo's experiments. He wondered if acceleration would be affected by the mass. So he dropped a light ball and a heavy ball from a great height but they landed at the same time. So acceleration is not affected by mass. So check your text books for the formulas, read up on it, and look at some Galileo's findings and then work from there.

Update us so we'll know how to help you from there.
