Well, school (more specifically elementary to high school) isn't so much rigorous analysis and independent discovery as it is studying and regurgitaton. Science is really all about trying to explain something that never explained before, and constantly trying to develop a more and more accurate theory to the idea. Never in my 12 years of schooling have I really applied the same concepts of true science to academics. It's all about the scientific method; developing a hypothesis explaining a phenomona, testing the hypothesis, observing and analyzing the results, then developing conclusions.

The dictionary would define science as the branch of study which deals with the phenomena of living and non-living organisms, physical measures and laws and study of chemicals. But, science goes deeper than that. It helps us relate to our surroundings and helps us logically analyse and question day-to-day happenings. A person with a science background can easily reason and understand the changes and adaptations around. Science brings the questioning and wondering element into our mind which gives us a broader outlook to life.

The Newtons and friends were taking tea
Beneath the boughs of an apple tree,
When a falling fruit landed on the
Head of the head of the family.
Mrs. Newton cried, 'Well deary me!
That could've caused an injury'.
But clever Isaac alone could see,
The situation's true gravity.
