Depends on what you mean by kind of water. B/c water is water, H2O. I guess you're talking about distilled water vs. bottled water vs. tap water. Tap water has more ions, such as fluoride and chlorine, which might either help or hinder plant growth.

You can test that, whether these ions/substances help/hinder plant growth.

If you're talking about sugared water, carbonated water, salted water, etc of course there'll be an effect. You have to test it though. Sugar, I believe will help. Carbon dioxide will hinder. Salt, I believe will hinder.

Good luck!

Well, there are a two approaches I can think of.

1) Use actual, already growing plants. You have to find plants that are easy to measure. (Not shrubs, but more like vines--something you can measure height with), and just water these plants with the four kinds of water you told me.

2) Use seeds. Radish seeds, rye seeds, and clover seeds germinate in days. Since they're seeds, they're easier to take care of. You'll need a lot of petri dishes (to keep the seeds isolated.) You'll need a paper towel to absorb the water you put in there. Make sure you put the same amount of water in each petri dish. One note: You might want to try more than one type of seed, cause seeds act in different ways.

(Get some petri dishes for your sister at your school, since she probably won't be able to get them.)

Good luck!
