Default measure PH level in Stomach

the question is how can we measure the ph level in our stomach to digest
proteins? i tried to get Hydrochloric Acid but it not availble to me only teachers. What eles can i measure the ph level? buffer solution, or Ninhydrin Isopranol? Can i get that? Help me with this.

Thanks alot.

Stomach Juices contain HCl acid. So it is always acidic. One thing is, you can test Ph level of the food that you eat or Ph level of blood. I don't think this count would be exact.

Ph strips are readily available in the market

The Newtons and friends were taking tea
Beneath the boughs of an apple tree,
When a falling fruit landed on the
Head of the head of the family.
Mrs. Newton cried, 'Well deary me!
That could've caused an injury'.
But clever Isaac alone could see,
The situation's true gravity.

Okay, let's get this straight...

HCl, or hydrochloric acid, cannot be used to measure the pH. Actually, it is an acid. It is the acid present in our stomachs to activate pepsinogen into pepsin (enzyme) and therefore, pepsin can digest the proteins. (For more research into this, you can get into physiology of the stomach, such as parietal cells. Take a look if you have time!) HCl is a strong acid, with a pH of one when measured with regular pH paper.

Go for pH paper. Not that I'm not a fan of cabbage juice indicator, but it's just not exact. It's more for ones who have no access to pH paper. Check with your school first for pH paper. And remember, when you get pH paper, to get a scale. How pH paper work: You dip the pH paper into your solution. It changes into a color. Match that color with a color on the scale. Let's say you have a reddish color. On the scale, it says that red is a pH of one, so you have a pH of one.

Now, let's get to your experiment. How are you doing to test the acidity of the stomach? There's just no way to get someone's stomach juices... (of course, without killing that person/organism). However, if somehow, there is a way for you to test the pH of the stomach, then I have a good experiment for you. Does the acidity of the stomach depend on the amount of protein you eat? (Protein is most commonly found in meat.)

How about you try to test the pH for different body fluids? If you're not disgusted, urine could work. Because urine contains amonia substances, it is more towards the basic side. Now, you can test the different pH levels of urine depending on what drink you drink. Cause coffee and tea are diuretics, which makes you lose water through urination. Would that change the pH of urine?

Good luck!
