Default How does the sun effect paint?

My teacher wants me to do a science fair project on how the sun effects paint. I have no idea how I am suppose to go about developing such a project.

Default Try this

Maybe you could get a solar generator and have different brands of paint under it and see if the paints change color or possibly texture. I think there is another thread on this site concerning that.

Default Sun and paint science fair project

Hi there!

Satfire's suggestion is excellent! Exposing paint to sun and observing the effects of solar radiation on the paint is definitely what you should be doing. You could test for color changes, changes in smoothness, cracks (using a magnifying glass). If you have access to a microscope, you will be able to observe the changes in greater detail.
