Default Botany Science Fair Project

Given your chosen topic, I think you should be experimenting with 1 plant and different types of water. What sort of water are you experimenting with? Are you varying the level of acidity of the water? The type of plant should be control variable - meaning that you shouldn't do the experiment with different types of plants.

Do take a look at the Science Fair Coach section for an explanation of what's an independent variable and what's a control variable. Go to:

This site is dedicated to helping each other and advancing the cause of science. It is the intention that counts, and not how "smart" a person is. In fact, we are ALL learning. Even if a person thinks they are clever, there's always someone else who is "cleverer". So, it's incorrect to label someone as smart or dumb.

Wisteria has been very helpful. Deon, perhaps you can consider offering some helpful constructive advice, even to Wisteria instead of attacking her on this board.

This world has way too much anger and violence in it. Let's all work hard to keep this board a friendly place for all. What do you say to that?

Well,I suggest using bean plants or maybe some corn plants. They both grow quite fast.If you are using the corn plants then start with seeds and then work your way up.I have a friend who is doing the same kind of thing but with different types of liquid instead.

Definatley, if the minerals in the water are different, it could help(or destroy)the said plant.

Default What were you thinking of regarding the soil?

Was there something specific that you had in mind?

i think that you should do some plants that will live without sunlight. or that they won't die easily. i learned from my mom and brother that you vcan't use regular plants.lol.
