Exclamation Grade 7 Science Fair Project--Detecting Infrared Light

Okay, I found this experiment on this site, and it is how to detect and seperate infrared light. I know it is high school level, but I myself have a learning skill of a high school student. I need to know where to find alchol thermometers, and not online. My mom and I have gone all over our town and no one has it. Some haven't even heard of them! Please, if you could help me, I would be MOST MOST GRATEFUL!!!

Small hardware stores and the "other" craft stores would be the way to go.

umm, u guys? an alcohol thermometer is one that uses alcohol instead of mercury on the inside. Many thermometers are like that and it probably says on the packaging somewhere. Look carefully
