As far as the metal thing goes...i dont know much about that but maybe it'd help if you read the book rocket boys or see the movie october sky(if you have time its really a cool book to read. the boy in the story makes homemade rockets and wins this science fair so maybe there would be clues in there. its based on a true story though) if it didnt help sorry but it is rocket science!(i just had to put that in there.couldnt resist stupidity impulse)

What did you mix alcazeltzer with?

A good rocket fuel is potassium nitrate and sugar. you can find potassium nitrate in any tree stump remover. when you get both these materials u do 1/3 part potasium nitrate and 2/3 part sugar. put it in a pan and wait till it looks like caremal.
Look this up on youtube, for better directions

Default for all rocketry wnna be's

I'm an 8th grader and gotfire i think it is great that you found a science project but i know a solid rocket fuel for anyone else who wants to Know. and its easy to make. if you take one part sugar and to parts potassium nitrate which is a fertilizer. its not extremely powerful but be careful and make sure you don't pack the fuel to tight in the rocket but don't do anything stupid with it
