Thumbs up Thanks but...

Thanks, i could really use your help! In, our class, we have to write proposals and we are supposed to do backround research, part of the scientific method, anyway, I can't find any good websites that give simple, straight-forward answers about blood pressure, music, or anyhing! Any suggestions?

Thank you guys but, I've looked on www.all-science-fair-projects.com and well, some of the info was good but, not enough and also, Wisteria, don't you think, considering the fact that we're on ASFP's message board that we've looked there! Anyway, thanks for trying!

Hi BroadwayBaby

Well in order to measure blood pressure, you'll need a monitor/device for sure. This url:
http://www.healthchecksystems.com/bpwrist.htm tells me that portable ones exist.
Having a portable one is necessary if you're going to measure other people's blood pressure.

I'm thinking you should carefully choose your subjects - say, a friend who has been playing an intense video game for 1 or 2 hours - then immediately have him/her listen to an ipod/walkman with a certain kind of music. Measure the person's blood pressure before the game, after the game, and say for a few consecutive 10 minute intervals thereafter.

Repeat this procedure for different types of scenarios such as:
1) A person who goes for an active 1/2 hour jog
2) A person who coming out of a daily commute (like a family member - u can give them the monitor and ask them to record their pressure before they start the commute)

... you get the idea.

Make sure you measure 3 or more times for each record point for accuracy.

Also, you can introduce different permutations by changing the different types of music.

The more scenarios & permutations you have, the more data you will have for convincing results.
