Default Still need HELP!

My grandson has a science fair project that has been assigned to him. "How does sugar affect the formation of ice crystals?" I know that we must be making the whole concept much more complex than it need be for a 3rd grade project, but we can't find any information. We don't know where to begin. Please - can someone help?

Default Salt

I thought salt effected ice crystals more than sugar.
