Children's blizzard:
extremly cold air from the north meets a low pressure system sailing on a jet stream, it intensified in the rockies and then when the warm, moist air from the gulf of mexico met it, it went KABAM and it turned a unseasnobly warm day into a blizzard killing about 500 people.

Could
Couldn't Meterologists have predicted it? And why was it called "Childrens Blizzard" Probably because most of the people killed were children.

The real name is "the school childrens blizzard" it started on a thursday when school was letting out and more then 100 kids died walking home, most of them didn't have coats on because it was an unseasnobly warm day. Yes, metoroligists did predict it but it was 1888 and the message was very hard to get across, so it took most people by suprise.

i actually don't know the number of deaths, i got the 500 confused with the other "children's blizzard" of 1888 that was in NY. but the 200 kids was about right
