It's Rube goldberg? I thought it was always Ruth Goldberg....

Anyways, in order to get started, how about learning what work is. I'm serious. Get the precise definition for work. You'll probably get yourself into force, but just get deeper. You should have a full, deep definition of what work is.

Second, how about you learn what our machines do? How does it change the work we do? The answer is (You'll want to look it in for yourselves), that levers, pulleys, all these tools don't help change the amount of the work, but the type of work, and therefore, it helps sometimes, and hinders at other times.

Next, investigate the different types of tools. Again, levers and pulleys are just a few. Make sure you have around 10 of these in your machine.

Then...think of something that you want to do with your rube goldberg machine. Like, perhaps, fry an egg, or perhaps squeeze your tooth paste. Whatever you choose, try to get started. Once you have a small thing to work with, you can expand and change, and it's like going downhill. Don't expect to do this in one day, though. Give yourself around a week just to build this machine, get all the equipement, etc. Give yourself around 1-2 weeks to get all the research done. So at least have a month on your hands. If not, get to work, NOW!

Good luck!
