Default It depends...

First you need to realise that there's a difference between deodorant and antiperspirant.

Antiperspirants contain fragrance, but they also contain chemical compounds that block the pores to stop the discharge of perspiration. No sweat, no odor.

Deodorant allows the release of perspiration, but prevents odor by combating it with antiseptic agents, which kill odor-causing bacteria.

So deodorant doesn't prevent sweating, it just covers the scent. Antiperspirants stop the sweating by clogging your pores with aluminum. When the aluminum ions are drawn into the cells, water passes in with them. As more water flows in, the cells begin to swell, squeezing the ducts closed so that sweat can't get out.

Default Yes

Yes, but antipersperants can also be dangerous. It has been proven that some brands have contained small amount of a poisonous metal, I think it was lead, but I'm not sure. But, to much of this metal could get into the bloodstream and cause infection.
