Default Advice on Volcono Project

I have a 5th grader who wants to make a volcano science fair project. I can find the recipes, but what can the hypothosis be? What question do you start with?

Default volcano project

A volcanoe is a difficult science fair project to do because it is hard to find a hypothesis. My suggestion would be to try a different project, but here is a suggestion for a hypothesis anyways. Since there are different types of volcanoes, you could try this hypothesis. such as "i think that my shield volcanoe will erupt with lots of lava, no a big explosion, but lots of lava pouring out of the sides." Here is an attatchment of a picture of a shield, cinder cone, and composite. see the attatchment below

I really have no idea for a hypothesis all i did was build one before so just go with caboose's idea.
