I am here to sugest so science projects, one project that will get u a good grade when u work at it is subliminal messages, this is like when u have a long movie u can put one frame of a message, for example, i u were watching shiloh an you made one fram in the movie say your dog is dead, keep in mind this goes by so fast u can't see it conciousley, people will ask or think that ur dog is dead

Actually 8th grade genius' suggestion IS very interesting!!!

I would never have thought of it. He or she is basically suggesting to show a movie that basically flickers a frame or (a few frames) that send a certain message (i.e. "your dog is dead").

The message should not really be noticeable because it flickers by too quickly.

Then show that movie to various people and record whether it had any effect.

8th grade genius --- that is a VERY cool project. Check with your teacher / science fair rules to make sure it qualifies. If it does I think you'll have a lot of fun doing it.

Like you said science it would definatley flicker by to fast..but movie editors have done some things like that such as Disney Movies. The only way you would really notice it though was if you made it more than a few frames.

Default Subliminal programming

That's a very interesting topic.

Boredom's right - to notice the message, you have to make sure that it appears in more than just a few frames.

Perhaps your a good hypothesis would be: "Subliminal programming actually has an effect on the human mind". It would be a rather complex experiment involving long trial periods, and large samples of tests.

Talking RE: Subliminal Messages

My relative has a degree in socialogy and did a similar project in college. She flashed aggresive words, such as: HIT! BAM! KICK! SCREAM! YELL! etc, she then measured the veiwers' blood pressure. Really interesting!

Hey,
Now THAT's what I call an interesting experiment.
But I didn't understand. Did it register to the viewers that they were
watching those words?

Beneath the boughs of an apple tree,

Mrs. Newton cried, 'Well deary me!
That could've caused an injury'.
But clever Isaac alone could see,
The situation's true gravity.
