Default Osmosis

Well, the experiment that I am entering is Osmosis and Diffusion. My hypothesis is What Liquids Will Diffuse Through An Egg Shell The Most
The matierals I needed were six stem glasses, six eggs, and six different liquids. The liquids I chose were vinegar, orange juice, milk, pepto bismol, coffee, and soda pop(ginger ale.)
For those who don't know, osmosis is when water passes through a semi-permeable membrane. Diffusion is when any other liquid passes through a semi-permeable membrane. Vinegar is high in acidity. Orange juice is also, but not as much, milk is high in calcium. An egg shell is composed of a calcium carbonate as well as many other elements. An egg shell has approx. 17,000 tiny holes in it.
I believed that because the vinegar is high in acidity, that it will diffuse through the egg shell the most. I also believed that the orange juice would have diffused through just as well. I didn't expect the pepto bimol to do anything because it is extremely thick.
What I did was I poured 1 cup(about 3 milliters) of each liquid into the six stem glasses. Next, I left them in the glasses for 24 hours, checking and recordind data about every half hour. The next morning, I found out that the vinegar had diffused through the egg shell the most. The orange juice egg did nothing, this might have been because of the high suger content. The milk egg did nothing. The coffee egg turned dark brown. The pepto bismol egg turned deep pink, but may have diffused if given more time. The ginger ale egg turn a caramel color.
Of course, the resaults might have been different if given more time.
