Cool Grade 6- Sound detector

Dear Mad Scientist, on my other thread you replied saying that the device I would like to build is a microphne, when it is not.

Here is my reply-

I'm sorry mad scientist, the device i would like to make is not a microphone. If you have ever seen a spy set from any toy store, (toys R US), then you might know of a device from when you clap or make any large sound, it will react. Do you know of any other ways to make this? Please say yes!

Default Oh, I think I know what you are saying

Are you saying something detectives use to tell when there is sound/motion within something amount of yards around the gadget?

I have seen those before, they are like anamatronic devices. Some will move when an object comes within its view, I'll get back to you on how to make one though, they are pretty hard to make.

Yes sorta. But i'm trying to make it out of devices that aren't that hard to find (household items) though some wires may be used.

Default Interesting sound detection device

Hi everyone!

What's this clap device that we're talking about? I'd love to see an example - is there a website you can point me to?

I would imagine that the principles of science for making the device would be very similar to a microphone though... Satfire, can't wait to see what you have for us!
