Try measuring the amounts of fungus that grow on different types of bread over a certain amount of time.

Lightbulb just trying to help

good idea Ravencraft or little scientist you could do a toasted and non toasted bread and different spreads and see which has the most amount of mould. Note: becarful of the temp. as mould likes to grow in warm area.

Lightbulb Fungus

Well, maybe u could try different types of breads and baked goods, i.e. white bread, wheat bread, bagels, bagguettes, croissants, dinnerrolls, bisquets, toasted white bread, etc. I hope you find what you're looking for!

that is a good site Tamthebest... any way you know moist and warmth are the best place where mould would like to grow...

Default Fungus in bread

Mold cannot make its own food and so it has to use the food made by other plants.
Mold is made up of tiny threads that cover the the food it uses.
The mold you can sometimes see growing on bread uses the starch in the bread.

For mold to grow it needs warmth, moisture and a shady place.
When the skin of fruit has been damaged you will often find that mold grows.
Mold is killed when heated to boiling point - one way to preserve fruit is to heat it in tight cans or jars.
Mold cannot grow at temperatures below freezing - another way to preserve food is to keep it frozen.

Hope that helped , Good Luck!
