Talking 5th grade salt crystal formations

I want to do an experiment using differnt kinds of salt (table, kosher and sea) dissolved in water and see if they will form different crystal formations as the water evaporates. I found some instructions that talk about using a sunny day and it is winter here and cloudy and foggy. Does anyone have directions or know what I should look under to find an experiment that would be like this. Thank you.
