Microwaves? As in the microwave used in our microwaves? That wouldn't be too good, I would expect, because these microwaves target water. So if there is seed in the water, it would boil and vaporize and probably burst the seed...

Try some other waves... However, I'm not sure how you can get access to these waves.

You can try the effect of the pH on germination... (For germinating seeds, I always recommend clover or rye seeds cause they germinate fast and are really easy. You put a few of these seeds on a soaked paper towel, and spray water once in a while. It germinates in a few days under good light.
