Please help explain results of experiment: on what surface does ice melt the fastest

I placed one ice cube each on the following 6 surfaces to measure on which surface ice melts the fastest. The results were (in order of fastest to slowest): marble, aluminum, wood, plastic, cardboard, and cotton cloth.

I would appreciate any help offered to explain my results for my science fair presentation.

THANKS!

explanation

your results are easy to explain... the thicker each fabric or surface equaled the tempature because marble is very thick so it absorbs heat which caused the ice to melt faster, but the cotton fiber doesn't hold the heat in well so the ice cube melting took longer :D
