8th grade science fair project
 
:rolleyes: Hi! I would like to do my sciencefair project on Biometrics particularly iris scanning. However, I don't know what approach to take ie., color, characteristics etc., or if it would even be a good topic for a project. Can someone please give me some imput?

They say that no two irises are exactly similar,just like our fingerprints.
They can use biometrics (color, pattern, size) of irises to identify people. I don't know if they started using this in airports. If we dissect the word biometrics, Bio- anything alive (parts of our body), metrics (measurement). Maybe one can take a zoom photo (withour flash, of course), and compare. Of course, large number of samples are needed to make conclusions.

there a new kind of surgery these days where they burn the cornea a little with the help of a laser to get a suitable shape so that the concerned person has better eyesight.
