Help!!!!!!!!!!
Can anybody give me a hint? My school's topic is: "What's the Alternative?" Grades 6-12 are supposed to find an alternative enery source. (Please don't give me any ideas 'cause I don't wanna get any after feeling of guilt for using someone else's idea!!!)

Alternative fuel
Are youo asking whether water or wind makes a better alternative energy source, and you need the reasons why?

Hopefully This Will Clarify!

I chose water because in some places it is continually flowing all the time, In some places that is.

Water as an energy source
Exactly what I was thinking, Boredom.
It would be easier to harness the power of water as in most rivers/lakes, there's often a continuous flow of water that could be harnessed to create electricity. As for wind, well, my impression is that whilst there are many windy places in the world (where the wind blows regularly enough for electricity generation), there's not as many of these as there are lakes/rivers. Try doing some research on location of windmills and see what you come up with.. Perhaps start at the Encyclopedia sectoin - http://www.all-science-fair-projects.com/science_fair_projects_encyclopedia/ |
According to me, wind energy is a powerful alternative to fossil fuel energy. It can be converted to the electrical form easily using windmills. I'm an avid nature conservtionist and an animal rights fighter. To harness water energy, dams are being built due to which water remains stagnant and the life suffers due to accumulation of algae and fungi . Thus, wind is a better option

I would have to go with water. If it is not windy on the ground level, you would have to take an instrument and place it higher in the atmosphere, which could be dangerous if it transfered the wrong chemicals. With water, there is some everywhere so you would not need to worry that much.

Just an idea. :)
I have an idea...Why don't you just do both? Water and wind both have their ups and downs. Water can harm rivers, streams, ect. but it can provide a renewable energy source that can make mass amounts of energy. Wind on the other hand will not work if their is no breeze or no wind so we would have no power and also you would have to make hundreds of them just to power one city. The good thing about wind energy is that it can't harm the environment but in order to build more windmills you MIGHT have to cut down forests.
