California State Science Fair
The California State Science Fair is the final science fair of the academic year for students throughout California in grades 6-12.

Is there a maximium on how many projects you can enter in the California science fair? Because I want to enter 2 this year. :)

California State Science Fair
The CSSF is a State science fair - you will be selected to participate if you win at a school/county level.

In short, I don't think you can submit more than 1 entry. Hope this helps! What project are you thinking of submitting? What grade are you in?

I am in 11th grade.... and have a huge fascination with rockets. You may have guessed from the topic relating to Ammonium perchlorate. :D

I wanted to build a Liquid Fueled rocket engine and test it. Although since i cannot enter 2 i may just combine them into one.

Something like:
What Rocket engine will produce more thrust and and prove more efficent with different types of propelents, Solid or Liquid fuel?

Then use Ammonium Perchlorate and Potassium Nitrate in the solid rocket. Then use Gaseous oxygen with alcohol, and Gaseous oxygen and gasoline for the liquid rocket. Im also thinking of using H2O2 (50%) as the oxyidizer.. but im not familiar with it.

Let me know what you think... and if there are ways of improving it. :)

Interesting experiment
Your topic should prove to be very interesting and challenging. I take it that you are measuring efficiency as a function of thrust produced and volume of fuel used?

Obviously the Liquid Engine is overall safer {if set up properly} because you can turn it off and on....while the solid must keep burning untill all of the fuel is consumed.

But it will be the same amout of fuel in each, I will determine thrust, length of burn, and altitude.

It uses the same launch vehicle, which will be equiped with one of my altimeters.
Except I will be using 2 engines on the solid fuel rocket. It should amount to a P rocket motor all together. I was going to do just 1, but the stability is lower.

Plus the liquid rocket is heavier untill some of the fuel is burnt off...and i still have not determined the total thrust or specific impulse of the Liquid one.
All I really have done at the moment is the launch vehicle.
But I will keep you updated. :)
